Shure Blends Brilliant Sound and Color with New SE115 Sound Isolating Earphones
Developed by Shure Incorporated, the world's leading manufacturer of microphones and audio electronics, the SE115 is the newest, most affordable and most colorful member of the company's acclaimed family of Sound Isolating Earphones.
Available in four colors - Blue, Pink, Black, and Red - the SE115 continues Shure's legacy of unparalleled sound and design quality and breaks new ground in technology and style. With the SE115, Shure engineers have developed a dynamic driver that
gives consumers a warmer and richer sound signature with more bass. The result
is the first earphone capable of fitting a dynamic driver into a form factor of its size, giving a bigger sound in a smaller and more stylish package than ever before.
The Second Generation Dynamic MicroSpeaker delivers detailed, warm sound with enhanced bass, Shure's unique Sound Isolating technology prevents outside noise from interfering with a consumer's audio experience. The SE115 is compatible with most popular CD, MP3, and DVD players, as well as with portable gaming devices (any devices with a 3.5mm jack). The earphones are also compatible with popular smartphones such as the Apple iPhone and BlackBerry Curve
About sound isolating earphones:
Sound isolating earphones are a special type of earphones developed originally for musicians trying to monitor their performance in loud onstage environments. They work by using soft foam or flex sleeves to seal out background noise, allowing a small, high-performance MicroSpeaker to deliver incredibly precise sound directly to the ear. Shure offers these professional-quality earphones for personal use with portable audio or video devices.
Sound isolating earphones are worn in the ear like earplugs with soft sleeves that couple with the ear to create a seal that blocks most frequencies of unwanted noise. This simple, natural form of noise reduction allows Shure earphones to block out up to 37 dB of ambient noise.
As a result, the natural isolating properties of a properly fitted sound isolating earphone rival the performance of even the most expensive active noise cancellation alternatives.

Shure will relaunch the PG Wired Microphones family
For over 80 years, Shure Microphones have delivered the unmatched sound quality and durability that have made them essential for stage performance and studio recording around the world.
In 2009, Shure Incorporated entered the digital recording market with three new products that connect personal recording enthusiasts with professional quality audio. Introduced in January 2009, the PG27USB and the PG42USB and the X2u XLR-to-USB Signal Adapter (XLR is the standard electrical connector for microphones), connect professional-caliber Shure microphones to any USB computer port with "Plug and Play" performance. The PG27USB and the PG42USB microphones are durable enough for everyday use and practice, but sophisticated enough for advanced recording by the most discerning artists. Excellent tools for multi-track recording, the cardioid condenser microphones feature built-in headphone monitoring with zero latency and monitor mix control enabling users to instantly hear what they're recording through headphones and make adjustments on-the-go.
The PG27USB and PG42USB successfully combine the following critical attributes into a single professional-quality package for home recording enthusiasts:
• superior equipment to translate sound;
• the ability to hear themselves (monitoring);
• the ability to accurately adjust monitoring mix.
The key difference between the PG27USB and PG42USB microphones is the application for which they were designed:
• The PG27USB features a flat, neutral frequency response for natural reproduction of a wide variety of instrument and vocal sound sources.
• The PG42USB was specifically engineered to reproduce the subtle nuances of lead vocals. The large diaphragm allows for higher sensitivity to clearly reproduce refined performances. The low-cut filter and external shock-mount further optimize performance for vocals. |

Shure Expands SM Microphone Line With SM27 and SM137
For over 80 years, Shure Microphones have delivered the unmatched sound quality and durability that have made them essential for stage performance and studio recording around the world. In 2009, Shure is expanding the line to give performers and engineers more tools to choose from with the introduction of the SM27 and SM137.
The SM27 is a rugged and versatile large-diaphragm, side-address cardioid condenser microphone designed to pick up the nuances of vocals and instruments with clarity. This microphone has a one-inch ultra-thin Mylar diaphragm for superior transient response, exceptional low frequency reproduction, and a low self-noise (just 9.5 dB SPL) to reveal fine detail when recording or during live performance. The SM27 offers lower self-noise and improved dynamic range specifications over the KSM27 model that it replaces.
The SM137 is a cardioid probe microphone for instrument recording applications. The SM137 employs an ultra-thin diaphragm for smooth high end and tight, controlled low end. Its 15 dB attenuator enables it to handle sound pressure levels as high as 154 dB SPL, for consistent reproduction of delicate acoustic as well as high-volume amplified instruments. The SM137 replaces the KSM109 model.
For convenient digital recording directly to a computer, Shure now offers the new X2U XLR-USB Signal Adapter.
The X2U features a built-in headphone jack with zero-latency monitoring for real-time playback and multi-tracking without disorientation. A Monitor Mix Control makes it easy to balance microphone and playback audio. |
